Dear parents/ carers,
As you are aware, we were asked to add additional and enhanced COVID mitigation measures from 1st November due to rising rates of infection in the community. PHSomerest met yesterday to review the current situation in schools and the community, we received the following correspondence from them:
“Covid-19 Outbreak Management:
Following the letter to each school dated 21.10.21, from the Director of Public Health for Somerset, as promised, we have again risk assessed schools in Somerset.
Whilst infection rates are declining in some parts of the county overall our rates remain high; our local rates remain significantly higher than the England rate. Based on the risk assessment, we are advising all schools to keep in place the previously recommended measures until the end of November 2021.”
This means until the end of November at the earliest we will remain as we currently are, with Year group bubbles; staggered drop offs/ pick ups and the other measures outlined in our contingency plan.
Thank you
Miss Airey
