Dear Parents,
Our first full week back after the Christmas break and the pupils are really warming up… unlike the weather!
Here is our first full newsletter of 2022. https://elmhurstjuniorschool.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/14th-January-Celebration-assembly-template_2.pdf
As you will see the children are really getting into their new topics and some of them definitely seem to be on the messy side, blubber gloves! The children’s behaviour and attitude to their learning continues to impress me and I am not the only one, our visiting teams having been impressing the hosts at the football events with their Elmhurst Etiquette and core values (more about that next week).
With the cold weather we have had a couple of icy mornings. We do attempt to grit the playground and entrance areas the best that we can but we are not able to grit the public footpaths leading up to the school, so please do take care.
I have posted some of the latest DFE guidance relating to a change in isolation periods (reduced from 7 days to 5 days). Whenever we get updates relating to COVID 19 we will ensure that they are shared on Whole School Dojo or Facebook areas. I am hoping that in the coming weeks we will have further guidance about what COVID measures we have to keep in place and what we can remove. We are all eager to return to gathering as a whole school; having larger get togethers and inviting parents onto site for events in school.
Best wishes
Miss Airey and Verlin
