Our weekly catch up

We have said good bye to September and October has arrived along with some very wet weather. Please can I remind parents to ensure that their child brings in a suitable coat everyday as we can never be too sure what the weather will be like during the day and we like the children to be out for playtimes as much as is possible.

Can I also remind parents that snacks for break time should be health such as a piece of fruit and not chocolate bars.

Sycamore class enjoyed their weekly visit to the Library. They enjoyed the huge selection of books quietly and sensibly and in Science they learned about the importance of bones and how they support and protect our bodies.
Fir Class are learning to play the clarinet every Tuesday. This week is the first week they have managed to make their first sounds. This is a very difficult instrument to play. Well done Fir Class.
Yew class have been learning how to execute a cartwheel and not just on the floor, they have been developing their skills by using the benches- very impressive.
We were also very fortunate to have our new chair of governor, Mrs Callaghan visit the school on Friday. She was very impressed with our pupils’ behaviour in the classroom, showing our Elmhurst values of Trust, Respect, Kindness and Forgiveness.

Well done everyone for yet another great week.

Miss Airey and Verlin
