Sports Ambassadors visit the County Cricket ground

Our Sports Ambassadors were treated to a visit to Somerset’s County Ground on a Monday 16th March as a result of us winning a competition.

On arrival we were given an hours training session at the centre of excellence, which was great fun. Some Somerset players watched on from the gym and Jack Brooks even started a floss off with the pupils. At the end of the session the children were able to watch Marcus Trescothick coaching club captain Tom Abell.

This was followed by a visit to the bat makers Millichamp and Hall to find out about their hand crafted bats – a bargain at £700- before visiting the press box and watching the grounds men drying the pitch.

They then met Sophie Luff the women’s captain on the way to lunch before some of the boys grabbed a selfie with Tom Abell, as he finished his session.

The children had a fantastic day.
