On Friday the 24th of January a lady (Sharon) from a local museum came in to do an extremely fun and interesting Egyptian workshop with us. First, we painted scarab beetles (they signify rebirth), each colour meant something special like red for fire and blue for the sky.
Next we brushed away sand to uncover lots of ancient replicas of: scarab beetles, ushabti, mini sphinx and much more. Last but not least, we made Egyptian date bread; I moulded mine into a plait and decorated it with small chunks of dates. They were delicious. In between activities, we were able to dress up in lots of different costumes! I liked it so much that I would gladly do it again.
